The Baader Steeldrive II Motor Focuser with Controller was released earlier this year and is proving very popular. Baader Planetarium have already provided the necessary data to software developers so they can write plugin applications for their own programs. Baader are pleased to announce that two plugins are now available:
TheSkyX
A plugin for the native support of SteelDrive II by the astronomy suite TheSkyX is now available for download at rti-zone.org .
TheSkyX is a comprehensive professional astronomy software package that allows the control mount, camera, filterwheel and more, as well as the planning of astronomical observations. TheSkyX supports Windows, macOS, Linux as well as ARM (Raspberry PI 3).
INDIGO
To use the SteelDrive II with INDIGO , you need to download software version 2.0-95 or higher.
INDIGO is a free platform-independent standard for the control of astronomical equipment. The network-based client-server approach of INDIGO allows the simultaneous control of any number of devices connected to different computers. The INDIGO Sky image for the RaspberryPI enjoys popularity in order to make its telescope, including mount, camera, focuser etc. networkable. INDIGO is available for Linux, macOS and ARM.
