With Jupiter, Saturn and Mars in the night sky (and Mars’ upcoming opposition in October) many want to image these planets.
Trying to get the small planetary image of onto a small imaging camera’s sensor by trying to centre it in an eyepiece, removing the eyepiece, inserting a camera, to find that planet is not visible (as it may have moved or be out of focus) can be frustrating.
Baader Planetarium’s 3-port Flip Mirror II (BFM II) is an ideal accessory for Lunar and planetary imaging. It will help you easily centre a planet or Lunar feature in an eyepiece and then by simply flipping the BFM II’s mirror up out of the light path’s way, places the object on your camera’s imaging chip. The BFM II uses S52, M48 and T-2 on both sides for telescope/camera connection (e.g. from Baader’s wide selection of Astro T-2 accessories), and an adjustable position T-2 adaptor on top for e.g. eyepiece clamps (or even a binoviewer).
