These fixed optical path length M48 extension tubes can be used to achieve the correct working distance of a camera sensor from e.g. focal reducer or other optical accessory. These spacer adaptors are available in
optical path lengths. These four extension tubes have a eyepiece/camera M48 male thread side of 3mm thread depth and the telescope side has a 3.5mm M48 thread depth.
Furthermore two additional fixed length spacer extension tubes with 2″ nosepiece and safety kerfs of 30mm and 40mm are available.
Modern cameras are usually characterised by extremely short optical heights, in order to be able to be mounted on various telescope constructions. The old T-2 standard with 5mm thread depth is a hindrance to this. To take care of this new development, all new Baader T-2 and M48 parts are delivered with the new 3 mm standard.
